Welcome to Flying Otter Vinyard & Winery

Flying Otter is one of Lower Michigan’s few estate wineries, located between Adrian and Tecumseh. Discover a hidden gem in Southeast Michigan, our seasonal tasting room overlooks the vineyard and surrounding forest, offering a welcoming “up north” escape. Why travel north when you can enjoy that same relaxing vibe here at Flying Otter? Sip Michigan-made wines and hard ciders while taking in vineyard views.

Open May through October, Thursday through Sunday. Walk-ins are welcome as capacity allows, and reservations are also available. Interactive tastings of our wines and ciders are available during open hours. For larger groups, please call ahead to make a reservation.

Plan Your Visit

Our seasonal tasting room is a covered, open-air pavilion, so please dress for the weather to ensure a comfortable visit. As the property is a working farm with gravel, dirt, and grassy areas, exercise caution when walking or driving. Limited ADA parking and ramp access are available.

Wine & Cider Tasting

Our boutique winery offers about 25 wines to sample via wine flights, single tastings, or by the glass or bottle. We also craft four hard ciders; Hopped Barnstormer and Raucous Raspberry are available year-round in 4-pack cans, with two additional limited seasonal flavors. Customize your flight by choosing 3 premium or dessert wines, 5 standard wines (dry, semi-sweet, or sweet), or mix and match any combination—including wine slushies and ciders.

Pair your wine with items from Anytime Menu or the expanded Grill Menu (available Fridays and Saturdays from 5-8 pm), all while overlooking the vineyard and enjoying the natural surroundings.

Visiting With Children

Guests under 21 are welcome at the Pavilion/Tasting Room. Please include them in your guest count when making a reservation. We offer a variety of non-alcoholic beverages. While we’re pleased to have families visiting, children must be supervised by an adult at all times.

Dog Policy

We adhere to the Michigan State Food Code, which prohibits pets—and any animals other than service animals—in licensed food service areas, including the winery, the Pavilion/Tasting Room, and the lounging area on the front lawn of the tasting room. Leashed dogs are permitted only at the tables across from the main lawn area (next to the vineyard). Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets.

Walking the Vineyard

All of the grapes used in our wines are grown on our 15-acre vineyard. Guests are welcome to stroll among the vines, but please refrain from touching or tasting the grapes. Also, use caution near the electric fence, which is used to deter large pests.

Professional photography is welcome by appointment. A signed contract and a small location fee are required—please call us for details and to schedule your session.

Parking

To reach our Pavilion/Tasting Room, turn off Chase Road and follow the driveway north, then take a left at the fork. The Pavilion/Tasting Room is on the west side of the property—just follow the signs. Parking is available in the gravel and grassy areas on either side of the pavilion. The ground can be a mix of gravel, dirt, and grass, and we have a few ADA-compliant parking spaces with a ramp entrance.

If you’re heading to the Winery, take a right at the fork in the driveway.

Outside Food & Bottle Consumption

Only food and drink purchased from Flying Otter Vineyard & Winery are permitted on the premises. For special, pre-planned events, we may allow desserts to be brought in if they are prepared and wrapped by a commercially licensed kitchen and served independently by the guest. Thank you for respecting this policy.
